ENI Norge's main office is in Stavanger, Norway. At present petroleum R&D has become more operationally focused on field development concepts, practical problems, equipment solutions, and health, safety, and environment (HSE) issues. Company R&D activities are intended to support the short, medium and long-term technology challenges and needs in relation to the Company activities on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). Environment and related health and safety matters is one of four core areas for the Company's R&D activities. Due to Eni Norge operated and non operated activities in the Barents Sea and in the northern part of the Norwegian Sea a high level of R&D initiatives in the HSE area will be maintained mainly with the intention to implement a zero harmful discharge policy for field development in the Norwegian Arctic areas and in the northern Norwegian Sea.
