German Fire Protection Association (vfdb)  

The purpose of vfdb is to avert danger (outside police authority) by promoting and applying scientific, technological, and organizational developments in relation to: fire safety; technical assistance; environmental protection; rescue services; disaster prevention. This also includes other related fields and information in response to some public concerns on safety issues. vfdb as a non-profit organization unites all interested parties involved in promoting fire safety (i.e. fire brigades, insurance companies, authorities, fire safety research and industry, users, experts and certification institutes) (about 2000 individual members and about 600 organizations as members).
