The DTU – Technical University of Denmark is, as of January 2008, the result of the merger between the Technical University of Denmark, Risø National Laboratory, the Danish Institute for Food and Veterinary Research, the Danish Institute For Fisheries Research, the Danish National Space Center and the Danish Transport Research Institute. DTU has about 6200 students and a scientific staff of around 2300, including 800 PhD students. Following the merger, Risø DTU is a National Laboratory for sustainable energy.
