Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung

BAM is a governmental institute associated to the German Ministry of Economy and Technology. Its main focus lies on "Safety in Chemistry and technology". 1600 employees, among them about 400 academic staff in eight scientific departments cover a wide range of safety related topics from chemical analytics, chemical safety, transport of dangerous goods, non-destructive testing to safety and reliability of construction materials and fire engineering. Besides manifold laboratory facilities and vast experience in advanced theoretical methods BAM runs one of Europe's largest test fields for fire and explosion testing.
