In the flow of its strong tradition, the University of Bologna is one of the most important Italian research universities. The Department of Chemical, Mining and Environmental Engineering has a relevant research experience in the field of transport phenomena, process development and unit operations, with a staff of 25 professors and 10 assistant professors. A specific competence is present since about 20 years in the field of process safety and risk analysis, in which a research group is involved in national and international research projects committed by public bodies and private companies. The Department joined the CONPRICI consortium since its fundation in 2005, and will act as a Research Unit of CONPRICI in the Integ-Risk project.
